We recommend you install the LegalWorks Launcher for Windows (which includes the Microsoft Office add-in) right away. This installer includes two components: the LegalWorks Setup App and Microsoft Office Add-In. (Installing the LegalWorks Launcher is not necessary on a Mac computer.)
LegalWorks Setup App
Once installed you’ll have a shortcut on your desktop labeled LegalWorks Setup. Run this application and enter your LegalWorks credentials (URL, username and password). The LegalWorks Office add-in (including the Outlook add-in) use the credentials you enter here.
You will also configure the Outlook settings for LegalWorks here. For more information on managing email and Outlook in LegalWorks, see: Working with Email.
Under Client Setup, click the Go button to automatically map drive letters to your Matter Documents and Firm Documents libraries. For more information on mapped drives within LegalWorks, see: Working with Documents.
This button will also optimize your Internet Explorer (Windows) for use with LegalWorks.
LegalWorks Office Integration
The LegalWorks Setup App will also install the add-in for Microsoft Office, Outlook and other Office applications. These add-ins are necessary for the integration between LegalWorks and Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook. For more information see: Email Management.
